Bitcoin was originally conceived as a digital currency for payment. Although with time, it has become more of an investing tool, many people are ready to accept payment in it or, vice versa, pay in BTC. We decided to discuss the six largest purchases in cryptocurrency. It’s interesting, are their owners sorry they hadn’t waited for the rate to grow even more? Would you spend cryptocurrency or is your strategy to hodl?

✅ The most expensive pizza in the world. Yes, this story has become a real legend. In 2010 Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas from Papa John’s. It was only 41 dollars then. ✅ Lamborghini Huracan for 45 bitcoins in 2017. Then this amount was equivalent to 200,000 dollars, but the buyer, Peter Saddington, Technical Officer of VinWiki, has no hard feelings — he says that he had bought these BTC in 2011 for a total of $150.

✅ Villa in Bali for 800 BTC, a land lot in California for 2739 BTC, and other real estates. Bitcoin investor Michael Komaransky sold his Miami mansion for 455 BTC in 2018. For some reason, cryptocurrency became very popular in the sector of real estate.

✅ Olivier Janssens, member of the Bitcoin Foundation, is reported to have bought a private jet for 55 BTC in 2014. One of the campaigns offering such service is SkyCraft Airplanes.

✅ Citizenship in heaven. Tropical island Vanuatu, as well as Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean, used to accept cryptocurrency as a contribution for granting citizenship; many investors took advantage of this opportunity.

✅ Luxurious yachts. American company Dennison Yachting accepts Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash as payment. The seller offers a range of yachts costing up to 60 mln dollars, and as they state, there is an interest from crypto enthusiasts.
