AI x crypto prospects: expert opinions divided
Dragonfly’s Rob Hadick and CoinFund executive director David Pakman are convinced that investors overestimate the potential of AI-based crypto projects and will soon sustain heavy financial losses.
Hadick insists that crypto projects powered by artificial intelligence are unviable and pose a significant risk for venture capital funds. Pakman is skeptical that developers attempting to introduce blockchain into AI will achieve success because they can’t compete with major players.
Meanwhile, venture capital firm a16z experts are optimistic that integrating AI with blockchain can become one of the growth drivers in the coming year. They also named emerging trends of 2025: crypto wallets based on AI agents, decentralized autonomous virtual assistants, and proof of personhood solutions.
a16z suggests that chatbots can manage social media content and assets through trusted execution environments.
“Running on a permissionless set of nodes, and coordinated by a consensus protocol, the chatbot could even become the first truly autonomous billion-dollar entity,” the experts highlighted.
