Are celebrities accepting non-fungible tokens?
The popularity of non-fungible tokens (NFT) continues to overgrow. According to Google Trends, the number of NFT searches in early December 2021 almost hit a new record.
Amid interest in new digital assets, the world-famous computer games developer Ubisoft announced its plans to launch its own NFT marketplace. The site will sell digital products called Digits, each planned to be assigned a unique number.
Musicians, athletes and other famous people are already issuing their own non-fungible tokens, attracting more attention to this new sphere.
The prime example is an NFT collection from chess player Garry Kasparov that came out on the 1Kind platform. It includes the grandmaster’s personal notebooks and archival photographs.

At the end of November 2021, Little Big frontman Ilya Prusikin announced the release of a collection of 1000 NFT eggs. It contains 3D figures demonstrating how digital currencies have changed the artist’s life.
American hip-hop artist and investor Snoop Dogg released a collection of NFT in the form of a 3D collage of parts of his photographs. One of the most generous offers was the rate of 169 ETH, which is more than $ 600 thousand.
Despite the new digital wave, Keanu Reeves does not consider himself a fan of NFT and the metauniverses, which tech giants like Meta launch. However, the actor has “some cryptocurrencies” that a friend gave him once.
The movie’s long-awaited premiere of “The Matrix Resurrection” took place in December 2021. A fortnight earlier, Warner Bros. released on the Nifty’s site an NFT collection, timed to coincide with the film’s release. There were 100 thousand NFT’s for $ 50 each, and sold out came in a few hours.
