Crunchbase records a serious increase in investments in the field of Web3

Crunchbase currently has over 15,000 Web3 startups. The total amount of investments attracted by these companies has reached $87 billion.

At the same time, out of 15,000 projects, 79 became unicorns, that is, their valuation exceeded $1 billion. Back in 2021, Web3 startups received investments totaling $30 billion, and in 2020, investments amounted to only $5 billion. This year, companies, focused on Web3 have already raised $14 billion.

The figures show that the global crisis does not prevent investors and companies from actively supporting Web3 projects. For example, the KuCoin cryptocurrency exchange is developing its own solutions in this area: the KuCoin Community Chain blockchain, the KuCoin Wallet, the Windvane NFT platform, and DeFi applications.

And recently, the crypto platform conducted a survey among Twitter and LinkedIn users about their attitude towards Web3. 30% of respondents noted that they are not confident in the success of Web3. The rest of the respondents are conditionally divided into enthusiasts and professionals.

The share of the latter reaches 16%. They have partnered with crypto projects, metaverses, NFTs, DeFi, and DAOs. 24% work full-time on Web3 projects, 76% are business people, freelancers, and people who choose to work part-time.

The share of enthusiasts is 54%. They are interested in Web3, but have not worked in this area yet.

Most of the respondents said they would like to work in the marketing, R&S, marketing, product management, and data analytics departments of Web3 companies. 64% of respondents see positive aspects in the prospect of working remotely, opportunities for self-development and the potential for growth in the industry.
