Representatives of the blockchain service Mixin Network confirmed information about the hacking of the platform by hackers. The damage caused by the attackers is estimated at $200 million.

Company representatives said that criminals attacked the database of a cloud service provider. This resulted in the loss of “some of the assets on the main network.”

“In the early hours of September 23, cloud service provider Mixin Network’s database was attacked by hackers, resulting in the loss of some assets on the main network. The lost funds amount to about $200 million,” the company said.

Mixin Network is a platform based on a solution that allows you to optimize the speed and cost of crypto transfers. The general public does not know who the creator of the service is. The company’s few news is limited to information about meetups and technical updates.

As of July of this year, the valuation of the hundred largest assets in the Mixin Network exceeded $1 billion. According to its own information, by mid-summer, 663 thousand monthly transactions were carried out in BTC and about 180 thousand transactions in ETH.

Recently, hackers attacked the wallets of the CoinEx crypto exchange. The damage amounted to about $70 million. Community members believe that the well-known hacker group Lazarus Group could have been behind the hack.

Cyvers analysts also issued a warning to cryptocurrency market players about questionable transactions and the withdrawal of about $2.7 million from the accounts of the Vietnamese platform Remitano.
