The American bank State Street specialists concluded that the cryptocurrency winter did not significantly impact the mood of institutional investors. They remain interested in the digital asset industry.

“During the entire period when it seemed that a halt in investment activity was inevitable, we saw how our institutional clients did not stop strategic investments in cryptocurrencies. This illustrates their belief that despite market chaos, the asset class is here to stay,” said Irfan Ahmad, head of the digital at State Street Digital.

Interestingly, a recent survey by the investment company HANetf among asset managers in the UK showed that about 75% of the study participants intend to invest more in crypto projects during the year.

Despite the decline in the price of most digital assets, managers are considering new investment options. They are confident that in the UK, over the next 12 months, they will create a comfortable regulatory environment for this.

At the same time, 52% of asset managers believe that regulators from the EU will make it much more difficult for investors to access cryptocurrencies. And 41% of respondents are sure that the authorities will most likely accept them.

In addition, 26% of survey participants believe that it is in the UK that there will be a favorable regulatory environment for crypto companies in the next five years. Approximately 20% named Switzerland, and Germany and Italy got 19% of the votes each.

And the former head of marketing at Kraken, Dan Held, warned bitcoin fans against being dismissive of other digital currencies.

“We should not demonize people for owning other cryptocurrencies. Most bitcoin maximalists behave not like investors but like religious fanatics, demonstrating intolerance towards people who do not want to invest money only in BTC. Imposing your opinion on people in which cryptocurrency is better to invest in, or trying to dissuade them from investing in altcoins is not the best way, even if bitcoin is the best store of value,” said Held.

What do you think about it?
