Trump believes that “the future of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin is being created in the USA”
Former US President Donald Trump is again running for office. He made cryptocurrencies an important part of his own campaign.
Previously, the billionaire was considered one of the critics of Bitcoin. In 2018, Trump called for the “end” of BTC. And in 2019, he argued that the value of digital assets was “taken out of the blue.”
After this, the businessman called BTC a scam and called for “very strict” regulation of the market. However, Trump’s rhetoric then changed.
In an interview, he said that he “is not sure that he would ban” Bitcoin. This was the first public statement in favor of digital assets. And then Trump even said that “the future of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin is being created in the USA.”
He emphasized that he is open to cryptocurrency business, and everything related to this industry. Trump accused the US authorities and Senator Elizabeth Warren of trying to destroy the digital assets sector.
The politician promised to “keep Elizabeth Warren and her goons away from your Bitcoin,” never allow the issuance of a cryptodollar, and “stop Joe Biden’s crusade to crush crypto.”
At the end of 2022, Trump’s team released an NFT that provided the opportunity to take part in a dinner with the billionaire. Recently this event actually took place.
At the dinner, the politician promised to support crypto projects. He also stated that he is ready to accept donations in digital currencies.
Trump also promised to support self-storage of crypto coins in personal wallets and to release from prison the creator of the Silk Road marketplace, Ross Ulbricht, who is serving a life sentence.
According to recent polls, a significant portion of digital currency owners in the United States are ready to vote for Trump. Users of the Polymarket platform placed more than 50% of their bets on the businessman’s victory.
