The initiative is called the T3 Financial Crime Unit (T3 FCU). Its main goal will be to prevent illegal transactions involving USDT on the TRON blockchain. We are talking about cybercrimes, hacking, theft, terrorism, evasion of economic sanctions, etc.

Representatives of the companies pointed to the growing popularity of the TRON ecosystem and the number of its users. A recent report from TRM Labs says that 45% of all illegal cryptocurrency transactions last year were carried out on TRON. For comparison: ETH accounted for 24%, BTC — 18%.

“By collaborating with TRM Labs and Tether, TRON is helping to ensure that blockchain technology is used to make our world a better place, and sends a clear message that illicit activity is not welcome in our industry,” said Tron founder Justin Sun.

A few weeks before the official launch of T3, FCU, together with law enforcement, managed to freeze more than 12 million USDT, which were associated with various crimes, including a blackmail scam and fraud.

We would like to remind the readers that the total volume of TRON-based USDT circulation has already reached $60.8 billion, which is more than half of the total stablecoin market.
